What you don't see at first glance
NCraft tries not to show more than it must, so some features hide in gestures, keys and the address bar. Here they are.
Pointer gestures
- Flick the pointer past the window edge on the hidden column's side — the column slides out and stays, even if you overshot.
- The column hides by itself 0.4 s after the pointer moves back into the window.
- Drag a dock icon onto the page — the panel becomes a floating window where you drop it; near an edge you get a docking preview.
- Drag a dock icon along the dock — the order is remembered.
- Pull a tab out of the tab row onto the page — it becomes its own window.
- Drag a note into the chat — its card appears in the feed; hovering the card highlights the element.
- Click the page or keep scrolling at its end — the bottom chrome fades; it returns at the bottom edge.
- Drag the window by any empty part of the column — no title bar needed.
- Hover a note in the list — the element lights up on the page.
- Click a mark on the screenshot canvas (macOS) — it gets selected: drag it or its handles; double-click a text or an arrow to edit its words.

| selection mode in all tabs | ⌘⇧N | Ctrl+Shift+N |

The address bar knows more than addresses
- Search the open page's text and the commands right from the bar.
- "/" lists the commands with explanations; examples with an argument are filled in with the arrow key.
/private— a private tab, invisible to remote requests too./relay only— test the group's relay until restart./network slow— see your site on a poor connection./tab closewithout a name closes unnamed tabs and asks once about named ones;/tab close <name>closes right away — typing the name is the confirmation.https://ncraft.live/join#<code>andhttps://ncraft.live/note#<group>/<note>links — open them from outside or paste them into the bar: you land in the join dialog or on the note. On iPhone and Android the link opens NCraft directly, on a computer — through the "Open in NCraft" page. Oldernb://join/…andnb://note/…links still work.
Small time-savers
- The home icon in a focused bar — to the widgets screen.
- The number on a group tile — the "Missed" window.
- ✦ on the profile tile — the tour again.
- A tab name protects the tab from accidental closing.
- "Arrange automatically" brings back the smart tab order after manual reordering.
- Site view (device, theme) is remembered per domain, zoom per tab.
- The push-to-talk key can be reassigned; Space in a text field types.
- Copied fingerprint — "Copied" for 2 s; copied 24 words (Windows) are wiped from the clipboard after 30 s.
- Launching NCraft again (Windows) brings the open window forward and
