A window where the page comes first
NCraft has no title bar and no toolbar on top: the page fills the whole window. Six panels live in a column at the edge, in floating windows or minimised to an icon — whichever suits you.
Six panels
Discussion · Notes · Tasks · People · Profile · Help. Shortcuts: ⌘⇧1…6 on macOS, Ctrl+Shift+1…6 on Windows (1 Discussion, 2 Tasks, 3 Notes, 4 People, 5 Profile, 6 Help).
The column
- Pin it to the left or right edge. Default: left on macOS, right on Windows.
- Drag its edge to resize (320 by default, 284 minimum).
- "Hide sidebar" mode: the column slides out when the pointer reaches the edge or flicks past the window on that side, and slides back 0.4 s after the pointer returns into the window.
- Drag the window by any empty part of the column.
- Windows only (for now): split the column — "Pin to top / bottom / full column".
The dock
- Six icons at the bottom of the column; the selected one sits in a tinted circle.
- Drag to reorder; the order is remembered.
- Drag an icon onto the page and the panel opens as a floating window where you drop it; near an edge you see a docking preview.
- "Minimise to icon", "Always show dock / Hide dock". When hidden, the dock also slides away as you scroll a list.
Windows
- Several windows: ⌘N / Ctrl+N; close a window with ⌘⇧W / Ctrl+Shift+W. Only the first window restores the session.
- Full screen: the system one on macOS, F11 on Windows; no rounded corners.
- Window controls sit over the content: a corner island on macOS, the system minimise / maximise / close with Snap Layouts on Windows.
- Windows only: launching NCraft again brings the open window forward; the unread count shows on the taskbar icon ("99+"). On macOS — on the Dock icon.
This page is a place to talk. Open it in NCraft: notes, tasks and chat about it sit right next to it, in an NCraft group.
