NCraft Terms of Use

Effective: 26 October 2026 · Developer: Aleksandr Pavlov, an individual ("we") · support@ncraft.live

These Terms are the terms of service for NCraft for macOS, iPhone, Windows and Android, however you obtained it. If you got NCraft from the App Store, your licence to the app is Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the "Apple EULA"), and these Terms apply alongside it; for Google Play, the Microsoft Store and other sources, see section 3. This English text is the binding version; if a translation differs, the English text applies.

By creating an identity in NCraft you agree to these Terms, to the Acceptable Use Rules and acknowledge the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use NCraft.

1. What NCraft is

NCraft is a web browser for working on websites together — with your team and with your clients. A website's domain is the topic and the group: members leave notes on page elements, set tasks and discuss the page within their group. People join a group only by invitation. Group content travels directly between members' devices, is end-to-end encrypted and is not stored on our servers. Our servers only help devices find each other.

2. Who may use NCraft

NCraft is a tool for work. You must be at least 18 years old, and old enough to agree to these Terms where you live. NCraft gives unrestricted access to the web and to content shared by other members of your groups, and it is not meant for anyone under 18.

3. Licence

NCraft is free, proprietary software; we keep all rights in it that are not expressly granted. Unless you got NCraft from the App Store, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use NCraft on devices you own or control, for free. Do not copy, resell, or reverse-engineer NCraft except where the law or an open-source licence allows it. Open-source components in NCraft are licensed under their own terms: see Open-source licences.

Which licence applies depends on where you got NCraft:

  • App Store. The Apple EULA is your licence to use NCraft (see section 14). Test versions installed through TestFlight are also subject to Apple's TestFlight terms.
  • Microsoft Store. These Terms are the licence terms for NCraft and take the place of Microsoft's Standard Application License Terms. The licence is between you and us, not Microsoft: Microsoft is not responsible for NCraft, its content, maintenance or support, and your use of the Microsoft Store itself is governed by Microsoft's terms.
  • Google Play. These Terms are the licence terms for NCraft. The licence is between you and us, not Google: Google is not responsible for NCraft, its content, maintenance or support, and your use of Google Play itself is governed by Google's terms. While NCraft is being tested, Google Play offers it only to invited testers.
  • Direct download (including the Android app from dl.ncraft.live). These Terms are the licence terms for NCraft.

4. Your identity and devices

Your identity is a key on your devices; NCraft shows it to you as 24 words. You can get your identity back on a new device:

  • from the backup of the 24 words in iCloud Keychain or Windows Credential Locker, if it is still there (see the Privacy Policy); NCraft for Android keeps no such backup;
  • by adding the new device from another device of yours;
  • by entering the 24 words. Your previous devices will then be revoked as lost, and the manager of each of your groups invites you back into it.

If you owned a group and lost all your devices, the 24 words also let you take the group back: an admin, your successor or, if there is neither, any member invites you, and after a waiting period (the one set for your successor, or 7 days) your new device joins the group as its owner. The return becomes final when your previous devices accept it, or after 30 days; until then the new device cannot remove members or change rights, and any of your previous devices that is still working can refuse the return.

We cannot restore your identity, groups or history and cannot reset access for you: we hold no copy of them. Your groups and their history come back from your other devices and from the members of your groups. Whoever has your 24 words, or can open the account that holds their backup, can take your identity: keep both safe. You are responsible for what is done with your identity and devices.

5. Groups and content

  • You are responsible for the content you publish and for the people you invite. You keep your rights to your content; you give the members of the group you publish it to the right to receive, store and show it.
  • The owner of a group moderates it: decides who is a member, removes members and content, and handles reports from members. Owners agree to the duties in the Acceptable Use Rules.
  • We cannot read, review or remove content inside groups, because it is encrypted end to end and we do not hold it. We act on what we can control: see section 7.

6. Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users

There is no tolerance in NCraft for objectionable content or abusive behaviour as described in the Acceptable Use Rules. Every user can block a person and report a person or a message to the group owner directly from the app, and can also tell us. Breaking the Rules is a reason for the group owner to remove you and your content and for us to refuse you support.

7. Reports to us

Write to abuse@ncraft.live (or use Also tell the developer when reporting in the app). We review every report: we reply to the reporter, explain how to block, report to the group owner and leave, and act on anything within our control, including changes to the app. Our servers do not know who you are or which groups exist, so we cannot read, remove or trace content or identities; a report should describe or include what you saw. We cooperate with law enforcement as required by law, within the little information we hold (see the Privacy Policy). How it works: Safety and reporting.

8. Remote actions, bots and the local interface

Members may act on your NCraft only within the rights you grant (see the Privacy Policy). You are responsible for the rights you grant, for the bots you add to your groups and for programs you allow to use the local interface on your computer. Do not grant rights to people or programs you do not trust. If you install a bot or a relay on your own server (direct-download builds for Mac and Windows), you are responsible for that server.

9. Websites

Websites you open are provided by third parties under their own terms. We are not responsible for them.

10. Availability, support and changes

NCraft is provided "as is" and free of charge. We alone are responsible for maintenance and support of NCraft; contact us at support@ncraft.live (see Support). We may change or discontinue features and our servers; groups keep working between devices that can reach each other. We may update these Terms; we will show significant changes in the app, and continued use after the update means acceptance.

11. Warranty and liability

To the extent permitted by law, NCraft is provided without warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, loss of data or keys, or content published by other users. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law.

12. Product claims and intellectual property

We, and not Apple, Google or Microsoft, are responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to NCraft or your use of it — including product liability claims, claims that NCraft fails to conform to a legal or regulatory requirement, consumer protection and privacy claims, and claims that NCraft infringes someone's intellectual property. Report intellectual property concerns to support@ncraft.live.

13. Legal compliance

You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties. You will comply with export and sanctions laws that apply to you when using NCraft, which contains encryption.

14. Apple, Google and Microsoft

These Terms are between you and us, not Apple, Google or Microsoft. Apple, Google and Microsoft are not responsible for NCraft or its content and have no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it.

  • If you got NCraft from the App Store: your licence to the app is the Apple EULA, and these Terms add the rules of the service. If the two differ about your licence to the app, the Apple EULA applies. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of the Apple EULA and may enforce it against you.
  • If you got NCraft from Google Play, the Microsoft Store or downloaded it directly: these Terms are the licence terms for NCraft; your use of Google Play and the Microsoft Store is governed by Google's and Microsoft's terms.

15. Third-party terms

You must follow the terms of third-party services you use with NCraft, such as your network, search engine and the websites you visit.
